Far Gosford Street: More funds for development project

£2.7m has already been spent on buildings in Far Gosford Street
A Coventry regeneration project has had about £1m from Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) set aside to help complete it.
The Far Gosford Street development is being organised by a partnership between Coventry City Council and Complex Development Projects (CDP).
It has already spent £2.7m on the scheme's first phase and now needs to draw up plans to secure the funding for more work on the historic buildings.
A spokesman said the European Regional Development Fund will match funding.
Ian Harrabin, managing director of CDP, said they had used the previous sum of money to give small grants to businesses to "improve their shop fronts and put the street back as a conservation area".
He said: "The first phase was funded by Heritage Lottery and Europe jointly and they've given us some more money to carry on and finish the job.
"We've just secured just under a million pounds. They've given us both the money to actually work up the detail and the outline approval.
"Within a few months we'll get a further just under a million pounds for the overall Far Gosford Street project and we have got an outline approval from ERDF to double that."
