Wellesbourne Remembrance cascade of poppies knitted by villagers

The poppy cascade was hoisted into position on Thursday and contains 3,104 knitted poppies
More than 8,000 knitted poppies have been created by villagers ahead of this year's Remembrance commemorations.
A cascade of poppies falls from the tower at St Peter's Church in Wellesbourne, Warwickshire, with thousands more placed around the village, including a school, 25 shop windows, the war memorial and a local Methodist church.

Organiser Kate Skinner said she was "very proud" of the installation and delighted with support she had received from across the village
They have been knitted as far afield as Florida and the Caribbean, by villagers while they were on holiday.
Organiser Kate Skinner said: "I had seen other flower installations around the country over the last few years and wanted to create something for our village.
"In January, we set out to knit and crochet 4,000 poppies.
"At first I wondered if we'd ever reach anywhere near 4,000, but the community responded with huge enthusiasm and a total of 8,003 poppies were made, double what we asked for.
"The project has been a huge amount of fun and has brought many people together in the community."

Two hundred people made the poppies from 800 balls of wool

Poppies were knitted or crocheted in Florida, Tenerife, Malta and the Caribbean by local people on their holidays

Residents attended a series of drop-in sessions to create the poppies before they were sewn onto netting for the church cascade

It took a little over 600 hours to sew the poppies on to the netting

Seventy people were involved in creating the cascade at St Peter's Church

Poppies have also been attached to the village war memorial in St Peter's churchyard

The installation at St Peter's is 21m (69ft) long and 5m (16ft) wide

Knitted poppies have even been incorporated in a floral display at The Flower Studios

Local shops and businesses in Wellesbourne have also got involved, displaying poppies as part of a trail around the village

Poppies have also been used as part of a postbox topper ahead of Remembrance events in the village

Villagers spent Thursday afternoon decorating the local methodist church
The cascade will officially be unveiled at 11:00 BST on Saturday and remain in place until November 20.
