Buildings have been evacuated after a car crashed into a barrier and burst a gas main.
The crash happened on the B4632 Clifford Lane, in Stratford-upon-Avon, near to the River Stour on Tuesday.
People were told to leave three commercial properties close to the area due to the rupture, Warwickshire Police said.
The road has been cordoned off and will remain shut while the gas main is repaired.
People have been advised to shut windows and go indoors if they smell the gas which is being dispersed by the wind.
