Care home residents have been treated to a "delightful and unexpected" visit from a bunch of penguins.

Photographs captured the "joy and amazement" of residents as they interacted with the feathered friends, said Jubilee House, in Leamington Spa.

"Humorous instances, especially involving penguin antics and their inevitable poops", added to the light-hearted atmosphere, it said.

Hosting the animals was a "unique experience," said the manager.

"Seeing the joy and surprise on everyone's faces when our flippered friends waddled in was just priceless," said Phillippa Cook.

A "particularly memorable" moment was when a three-year-old family member came face-to-face with a penguin "almost her size," she said.

"It's these little unexpected joys that make life so rich for our residents and we can't wait to see what we come up with next."
