A fuel tanker blaze has forced the closure of one of the main routes into Coventry.

Three fire crews are at the scene on the A46, near junction 2 of the M6, said Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Warwickshire Police have confirmed the A46 is shut close to the roundabout leading to the motorway junction.

"The road is likely to be closed for some time. Please re-route accordingly," the force said.

The fire service said a water carrier, foam tender and the environmental protection unit were also at the scene.
