Brothers Carlo and Chips have proved it really is a dog's life after they were reunited following nearly a decade of work.

The Labrador-cross-golden retrievers were part of a litter of eight born in 2014 in Henley-in-Arden, before they trained as guide dogs and separated.

Carlo was partnered with his owner in Coventry, while Chips went to Peterborough.

Now retired, Chips was rehomed in Coventry allowing to meet Carlo again.

"We reunited the brothers for the first time on Friday 5 January, in War Memorial Park, where they certainly seemed to recognise each other and had the best time racing around together," said Carlo's owner Charles Bloch.

The pair had "crossed paths" a few times over the last nine years and had always been "inseparable," he said.

Mr Bloch was surprised to find his friend Fin Findlay, who also lives in Coventry and volunteers for Guide Dogs, had been selected to re-home Chips when he retired.

"Chips has settled in brilliantly and already feels part of the family," said Ms Findlay.

"He had a great time being reunited with Carlo earlier this month and they ran around together like they were puppies again."

Although Chips has now retired from service, Carlo is still partnered with Mr Bloch, who has 10% vision.

"Both myself and my friend are part of the local Guide Dogs fundraising group, so Carlo and Chips will be able to enjoy attending fundraising events together as well as lots of park trips over the coming months," he said.
