Boy, 9, seriously injured after being hit by car in Bedworth

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash at the junction of Rye Piece Ringway and Chapel Street to come forward

A nine-year-old boy has been hit by a car and seriously injured in Warwickshire.

The child was hit near Rye Piece Ringway in Bedworth by a Peugeot 107 which was travelling along Chapel Street at around 15:50 GMT on Tuesday.

Warwickshire Police said the boy was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

The driver remained at the scene to assist with inquiries and no arrests have been made.

Sgt Sam Bates has appealed to anyone who witnessed the collision itself or has CCTV or dash cam footage which could help to get in touch with police.
