Warning after spate of fuel thefts in Cumbria
- Published
Farmers and businesses in north Cumbria have been warned to be vigilant following a spate of fuel thefts.
Diesel has been stolen from commercial premises and oil tanks from farms in Brampton, Longtown, Hethersgill and Carlisle in recent weeks.
Cumbria Police said the thieves needed to use specially adapted vehicles to transport the stolen fuel.
They are urging people to get in touch if they see any vehicles parked in unusual spots.
Businesses are also being urged to store their fuel more securely.
