War dead honoured in Remembrance Day parades
- Published
Remembrance Day parades have taken place across Tyneside, Wearside, Northumberland and County Durham.
The Sunderland event, thought to be one of the biggest outside London, involved veterans with serving members of the armed forces and emergency services.
It follows the dedication on Armistice Day in the city of a memorial wall built to honour those killed during all conflicts since World War II.
There were ceremonies at Cenotaphs and a service at Durham Cathedral.
