Walker, 19, dies on Scafell Pike

A 19-year-old man from Derbyshire has died on England's highest peak - Scafell Pike in Cumbria.

Lee Jones was with a friend on Friday when they became separated at about 15:00 GMT in snowy conditions.

Members of the Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team started their search but were forced to abandon it when the weather deteriorated.

Cumbria Police said the body of the walker was recovered shortly before 12:00 GMT on Saturday.

They said his family had been notified.
