A footpath near Keswick damaged in the floods that affected Cumbria during November 2009 is to be repaired.
Work on Newlands Beck, Little Braithwaite, will see logs used to strengthen the watercourse. The path alongside will then be restored.
About 4,000ft (1,200m) of logs will be used. Work is scheduled to take 10 weeks to complete.
More than 250 bridges were damaged in the Lake District due to the floods. So far £1.4m has been spent on repairs.
The Lake District National Park Authority estimate that another £500,000 of work still needs to be done.
