Almost 100 harbour-side homes planned for Workington

Almost 100 new homes are planned as part of a revamp of a Cumbria harbour.

Port Developments LLP wants to build 94 homes at Workington's port and marina overlooking the harbour.

The scheme of two and three-bedroom homes is being considered by Allerdale Council's planning department.

If approved, the houses would be built near Curwen Road. Cumbria County Council is currently spending £11m on redeveloping the harbour.

Port Developments is also planning to build a small number of four and five-bedroom semi-detached houses, a play area and 188 parking spaces.
