A body has been found by search teams after a man was seen falling into a river in Cumbria.
Rescuers started a search of the River Rothay at Ambleside when a member of the public saw someone fall into the water at 14:25 GMT.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was found at 15:30 GMT. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The search team included members of the fire service, the Coastguard, the RAF and Langdale Mountain Rescue Team.
A Cumbria Police spokeswoman said officers were working to identify the man and inform his next of kin.
Heavy rain and high winds have affected the county's roads with the A591 "treacherous in some areas", particularly from Dunmail Raise towards Grasmere and also on the Keswick side of Dunmail Raise, according to police.
Eamont Bridge to Cliburn Road, Penrith, was blocked due to flooding and the A6 between Hackthorpe and Thrimby was partially blocked due to fallen tree.
