HGV stranded on Kirkstone Pass after ignoring closure notice

An HGV got stranded on one of the UK's highest roads after ignoring closure signs in place because of severe weather.
Cumbria's A592 Kirkstone Pass, which climbs to 1,489ft (454m), is shut between the Troutbeck and Hartsop junctions following snowfall.
The A686 Hartside Pass between Melmerby and Alston is also shut.
Cumbria Police warned black ice was affecting stretches of A595 Muncaster and further south and advised motorists to drive with "extreme care".
The Fellrunner volunteer bus service is not running.
More than 40 schools in the county made the decision to close on Thursday, although only a small number remain shut on Friday.
Alston Primary and Nenthead Primary schools have said they are closed and Greystoke Primary is also shut because staff cannot get in.
