Staff at Sellafield nuclear plant in Cumbria to strike

Hundreds of staff who carry out radiation checks at the Sellafield nuclear reprocessing plant in Cumbria have voted to strike.
Almost 400 health physics monitors, who carry out manual radiation checks on staff and equipment, are to take part in a one-day stoppage on 28 July.
The GMB union said the action was part of a long-running pay dispute.
A spokesman for Sellafield Ltd said the action would not impact on safety and the site would operate as normal.
Sellafield reprocesses and stores spent nuclear fuel from around the world and employs about 10,000 people.
