A father has been found guilty of murdering his four-month-old son.
Reece Kelly, 31, formerly of Hunday Court, Workington admitted the manslaughter of Dallas Kelly in October 2021, but denied his murder.
However, on Wednesday a jury at Carlisle Crown Court returned a unanimous guilty verdict.
Dallas' mother, 23-year-old Georgia Wright, also from Workington, was cleared of causing the child's death but found guilty of child cruelty.
They will be sentenced at a later date.
Pale and blue
Reece Kelly was with Dallas on 15 October 2021 while his mother was at work.
He called 999 and when paramedics arrived they found Dallas lying on his back on the living room floor, wearing only a nappy.
Jurors were told the baby was pale, blue, floppy and in cardiac arrest.
Dallas was taken to a hospital in Whitehaven before being transferred to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary.
He died on 19 October.
A pathologist found Dallas had suffered several rib fractures and died from a traumatic head injury.
During the trial the court heard cannabis grinders, pipes and prescription-only medication were found in the family's home.
