The mother of a four-year-old boy found dead inside a tumble dryer in Derbyshire has been arrested.

Sonny Gibson's body was discovered at his home in Northcliffe Road, Ashbourne, on 26 July shortly after he was reported missing.

Anne Gibson, 41, was arrested on suspicion of child neglect on Friday and was later bailed.

The results of a post-mortem examination have not been released. An inquest has been opened and adjourned.

Officers said they were investigating reports the child had been playing a game of hide and seek before the incident.
