A house which was being used by drug takers in Derbyshire has been closed by police and council officials.

Derbyshire Police and Bolsover District Council worked to shut the house on Market Close in Shirebrook after many reports of anti-social behaviour.

Police had reports of up to 20 people at a time being inside the property.

The house will be closed for up to three months and anyone caught on the premises in this time could face a six-month prison sentence or fine.

Sgt Paul Smith from Derbyshire Police said: "This is an excellent example of how the police and local authority are working in partnership and using all the relevant legal powers at their disposal to tackle anti-social behaviour in Bolsover."
