Derbyshire council to spend £52m on housing upgrade

An East Midlands council is spending £52m in the next four years to improve its housing.

The government money will be spent on modern windows and doors and other improvements in North East Derbyshire.

Council leader Graham Baxter of North East Derbyshire District Council said the move will "improve thousands of homes throughout the district".

The investment is the biggest housing investment programme in the region outside Nottingham, he added.
