Steve Ward spoke to BBC Radio Derby's Colin Bloomfield after his win in March
A 54-year-old professional boxer who trains and works in Derbyshire has been confirmed as the oldest in the world.
Steve Ward successfully defended his European Boxing Federation Midlands Cruiserweight title in Chesterfield in March.
His achievement has now been officially recognised by Guinness World Records.
The feat means he takes the place of Australian fighter Dexter Dunworth who retired in 2008, aged 53.
The fighter said he had no plans to retire and now wanted a shot at a British title.
