A man given an indeterminate sentence for wounding and actual bodily harm (ABH) has absconded from an open prison in Derbyshire.

Wesley Jones, who was jailed at Liverpool Crown Court in 2007, failed to return to HMP Sudbury after being out on temporary day release.

He is white, 6ft 3in (1.9m) tall, with brown eyes and black hair. His last known address was in Orrell, Wigan.

Anyone who sees the 26-year-old is asked to contact Derbyshire Police.
