Crich Tramway Village in Derbyshire restores Edwardian tram

A tram from the Edwardian era has been restored to add to a collection at a Derbyshire museum.

London United Tramway number 159, which has taken seven years to restore, will be operational again after more than 90 years at Crich Tramway Village in Derbyshire.

Engineering director John Shawcross said it has been a challenge to completely rebuild the interior and upstairs and replace the wheels of the 110-year-old tram.

The tram operated in west London from 1902 until the 1920s. It was then sold and turned into a house for 50 years.
