Fire crews have been dealing with a blaze at a derelict pub in a Derbyshire village.

Four fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were sent to The Wilmot Arms in Derby Road, Borrowash, on Wednesday afternoon.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said a section of the road had been closed after it received reports of the fire at 15:04 BST.

The large pub has been closed since 2019.

The fire service has advised people in the area to keep their doors and windows shut.

Crews from Nottingham Road, Ilkeston, Kingsway and Ascot Drive fire stations were in attendance and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service has also been assisting firefighters at the scene.

Derbyshire Police warned the road was likely to be closed for some time.
