Buxton care home gets second 'inadequate' rating

A care home remains in special measures after being rated "inadequate" again.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) raised concerns about the safety and management of Haddon Hall Care Home in Buxton, Derbyshire.
According to inspectors, one resident said they had just six showers in 23 days.
Porthaven Care Homes, which runs the facility, said it had apologised to residents and their families.
The home was previously rated inadequate at an inspection in October 2022.
The latest visits were carried out on 6 and 12 June, with the report published on 20 September.
'Short staffed'
Inspectors said they found five people's fluid monitoring charts recorded that they had "not had a drink for several days" meaning they were concerned they were "not always protected" from the risk of dehydration.
CQC officials also said one person's care records stated they wanted to shower daily but had only "six showers in a 23-day period".
The report, external said relatives of residents and the staff themselves had raised concerns with the watchdog about the number of workers on shift.
One relative told the CQC: "They are short staffed and [staff] are rushed off their feet."
Another said: "I asked if [my relative] could have a bath - staff told me they don't have the time."
According to a statement on the care home's website, the facility's manager resigned after the latest inspection.
However, the company has since clarified that the statement referred the action taken following the first inspection in 2022.
In a newly-released statement, the care home said: "Since the CQC inspectors last visited our home in June, we have already made a number of changes and improvements at the home.
"We appointed a new home manager at the end of March, who is embedding the changes we are continuing to make at the home. Under their leadership, we have made improvements to our systems and processes which address the outstanding areas for improvement identified in the CQC report."
