A man serving an eight-year sentence for battery has absconded from an open prison.
Matthew West walked out of HMP Sudbury at 20:15 BST on Tuesday, Derbyshire Police said.
The force said West, 39, is around 5ft 5in (1.65m) tall of medium build with blonde hair and blue eyes.
He has tattoos on his arms and scars on his head and face. He is believed to be wearing a light grey top with an orange stripe and black jogging bottoms.
Officers would like anyone who sees West, who has links to the Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Staffordshire areas, to contact them.
