Mr Elliott pleaded not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm at Derby Crown Court

A police officer has denied assaulting a man during an arrest.

Derbyshire Police constable Shaun Elliott, 53, was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm following the incident at Buxton Police Station on 30 December 2022.

Mr Elliott, of Ashbourne, Derbyshire, pleaded not guilty at Derby Crown Court on Wednesday.

He was given unconditional bail and told he would next appear at the same court on 20 August 2024.

Mr Elliott was charged after an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
