Police have issued an appeal after two men absconded from an open prison in Derbyshire.

Benjamin Pownall and Jack Humphries left HMP Sudbury at about 17:15 GMT on Wednesday and got into a vehicle, which is believed to have travelled to Staffordshire.

Pownall is serving over four years for robbery, weapons and driving offences, while Humphries had been jailed for over seven years for drug offences.

People are urged not to approach them.

Instead, anyone who sees the pair - who both have links to Stoke-on-Trent - is asked to contact Derbyshire Police.

Pownall, 27, and Humphries, 28, were jailed for four years and four months, and seven years and two months respectively.
