Elijah Shemwell death: Man, 18, denies murdering four-month-old baby

An 18-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to murdering a four-month-old baby.
Carl Alesbrook is accused of killing Elijah Shemwell, who was found in cardiac arrest at a property in Acorn Drive, Belper, Derbyshire, on 2 January 2022.
The infant died three days later.
At Derby Crown Court on Friday, Mr Alesbrook, of Upper Greenhill Gardens, Matlock, denied murder and was remanded in custody.
He also pleaded not guilty to charges of inflicting grievous bodily harm and inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent between 18 November 2021 and 1 January 2022.
Mr Alesbrook is due to face trial at the same court on 10 April.
