New temporary car park plan for Royal Derby Hospital

Hospital bosses in Derby want to set up a new temporary car park to replace spaces lost during building work.
Work to build a new 875-space multi-storey car park at the Royal Derby Hospital is due to start next spring.
Hundreds of parking spaces for patients and visitors will be out of action as a result.
To fill the gap, the hospital has applied for planning permission to create a temporary car park at Kingsway Boulevard.
If the plans are given the go-ahead, the temporary car park would have 368 spaces and open from 08:00 to 18:00 seven days a week.
A shuttle bus service would be used to transport patients and visitors to the hospital for 18 months while the new multi-storey car park is built, writes the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
A further planning application has also been submitted for a further 145-space "overflow" car park on land off Manor Parkway which would be open between 07:30 and 18:30, seven days a week.
Only Car Park Six at the Royal Derby Hospital will be out of action while the new multi-storey car park is built and visitors and patients will still be able to use other spaces at the site.
Derby City Council hopes to make a final decision on the plans by January.
