Alvaston: Arrests after e-scooter rider seriously injured in hit-and-run

An e-scooter rider was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a car in Derby.

Police went to Crayford Road, Alvaston, at about 21:30 GMT on Wednesday.

The vehicle believed to be involved - a silver Vauxhall Corsa - left the scene, police said.

A man and woman, both in their 30s, have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and failing to stop after an accident.

Both remain in police custody, Derbyshire Police added.

The e-scooter rider is still in hospital receiving treatment.
