Peak District: Walker films 'wild' dam after heavy rain

A rambler has captured a Peak District dam in full flow after heavy rainfall.

Sue Rhodes said Derwent Dam was the "wildest" she had ever seen it after walking by with her husband on Wednesday.

A number of flood alerts were issued across Derbyshire and the rest of the East Midlands following prolonged periods of rainfall brought by Storm Gerrit.

Mrs Rhodes, from Doncaster, said: "We were both totally amazed as we approached it after a very rainy and windy Derwent Edge walk.

"It was blowing back up and over the top. We’ve been there lots of times and never seen it like this."
