Several roads in Heanor are shut

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a bus in Derbyshire.

The man, in his 70s, suffered a serious leg injury when he was struck by the vehicle outside the King of Prussia pub, in Heanor, just before 18:00 GMT.

Derbyshire Police said several roads in the area were "likely to remain closed for some time" as a result.

The force said the man had been taken for treatment at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.

High Street is closed from the Tesco roundabout to the Market Place, as is the A608, from its junction with Ilkeston Road.

Wilmot Street, near to the Market Place, is also closed.
