A new £11.9m football centre in Derby will open its doors to the public next week.

The new hub at Derby's Racecourse Park, for which building work started in March, will be opened for public viewing on Thursday and Friday.

The multimillion-pound facility includes a new community building and three new 3G pitches alongside the existing pitch.

The first games are due to take place on 10 and 11 February.

The development aims to support grassroots football by providing high-quality, sustainable facilities for year-round pitch use.

It was jointly funded by Derby City Council, the Premier League, the FA, and the government's Football Foundation.

The hub also features a community cafe, additional community meeting spaces, more parking spaces and upgraded entry and exit points to the site.

Racecourse Park, which the site is located on, has also been revamped with a new play area, basketball court, and outdoor gym.
