Derbyshire's first drag showcase announced

The first Derbyshire Drag Showcase has been announced.
The event, which is being held at Derby's Museum of Making, has been set up to support Derby and Derbyshire's drag scene and local LGBTQ+ performers.
It comes as part of one of the museum's first "Friday's after hours late events", which is being held on 1 March.
Dan Webber, events programmer at the museum, said: "It's not going to be like anything you've ever seen before."
Derby Museums is co-producing the event alongside drag artist and producer Liv.
The non-binary drag performer currently hosts and produces the Nottingham and Norwich Drag Pageants and has been "such an important" part of bringing a drag showcase to the city.
Mr Webber said: "Liv has been great to source the eight drag performers for the showcase and has been really helpful to show us how we stage a drag showcase at a museum.
"There's going to be lots of colour, music, variety, comedy, and it's going to be a wonderful evening."
Mr Webber explained why the museum was the place of choice for the first-ever drag showcase the county has had to offer.
"We fully appreciate that drag is an art form and it's all about making, so we really want to champion that art of making and it should be celebrated at the museum.
"This is not a pageant or a competition, it's a showcase and we wanted to create an event for drag acts - whether they're new to the scene or very established - to showcase their talent in such a historic environment."
The showcase is free to enter but will only be available for people aged 18 and above.
