Ilkeston woman jailed for stabbing brother in chest and back

A woman has been jailed after stabbing her brother at a house in Derbyshire.

Millie Bryan, 24, was sentenced to 30 months in prison on 15 February after pleading guilty to unlawful wounding at Nottingham Crown Court.

Derbyshire Police attended a house in Peveril Crescent, West Hallam, on 25 March over reports of a serious assault.

The victim, in his 20s, was left with "life-threatening" injuries, which included a punctured lung.

Officers found him with serious stab wounds to his back and chest on arrival at the property.

Bryan, of Stratford Street in Ilkeston, was arrested, while her brother was taken to hospital.

She pleaded guilty to a charge of wounding at a hearing on 30 November.
