Derby: Final plans for more than 200 homes submitted

Final plans for more than 200 homes next to the A6 in Derby have been submitted.
The scheme, from Miller Homes, would see housing and services built next to the A6 Thulston Roundabout, off Chellaston Lane.
Outline approval for the development was approved in August 2022 by South Derbyshire District Council.
Now the developer is seeking to secure the final required permission for the site.
This includes reducing the planned number of homes down from 228 to 214 properties on the 18-acre site, 120 of which will be classed as affordable.
The outline planning permission for the site had included a care home, petrol station, shops and restaurants, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.
However, this reserved matters application, to be decided by the district council in the next few months, focuses purely on the homes portion of the development, with the shops, restaurants, care home and a community centre to follow at a later stage.
A report submitted with the application details: "The Boulton Moor residential development provides an opportunity to create a sustainable and attractive new 'heart' for the local area with a range of uses."
These services are to support the wider redevelopment of Boulton Moor which will contain in excess of 2,600 houses, along with a primary school, businesses and sports facilities.
When the overall plans were approved in 2022, councillors raised concerns about the cumulative impact of developments being built around the Thulston Roundabout, which include the regeneration of Elvaston Castle, sports facilities and a supermarket.
