A driver crashed a top-of-the-range sports car after failing to stop for officers.

Derbyshire Police said the crash involving a Lamborghini Huracan happened near Chesterfield at the weekend.

Officers said they had indicated for the driver to pull over but they had failed to stop.

However, they said the power of the car "far outweighed the talent" and the vehicle crashed.

The suspect then fled the scene of the wrecked Lamborghini.

In a social media post, the force's roads policing unit wrote: "Driver made off but we will be catching up with them soon."

Lamborghini Huracans are valued between £235,110 and £246,558 according to Auto Trader.
