Derbyshire Police said the suspects appeared before magistrates on Saturday

Three people have been charged with kidnapping a 14-year-old boy in a Derbyshire village.

Police said the teenager was safe and well following the incident in Pinxton on 17 February.

Officers from Derbyshire Police's criminal exploitation team arrested two men, aged 24 and 26, and a 22-year-old woman a few days later.

All three were charged with kidnap and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

The force said the suspects, who were believed to be known to the boy, were in custody ahead of an appearance at Derby Crown Court on 22 March.
