Fan with rare condition scores final goal

A lifelong Ilkeston Town fan with a rare medical condition was brought on to the pitch to take a penalty in the last minute of a match.

Brandon, 17, had the opportunity to not only sit in the dugout during the Ilkeston Town Fans versus Legends game, but also scored with the last kick of the game.

The teenager has a condition called hydroxyglutaric aciduria which only has 150 identified sufferers around the world and causes progressive damage to the brain.

Margaret, Brandon's foster mum, described the moment as an "opportunity of a lifetime".
