Police want to speak to anyone who has not yet reported their bike theft

A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft after police recovered more than 70 bicycles believed to be stolen.

Derbyshire Police believe the thefts may have occurred between 1 January and 20 March 2024 in Normanton and Derby city centre.

The force said a man, 26, from Derby, was arrested on suspicion of theft and released on bail while investigations continued.

Police are now appealing for help to find the rightful owners of the bikes.

A spokesperson from the force said: "If you have previously reported a bike theft to us, our officers are looking into these and will be in contact with you if a bike matches your description."
