The intrepid bovine was discovered down the slurry pit
A calf weighing 350kg (55st) was winched to safety after falling into a slurry pit in Derbyshire.
A crew from Ashbourne was called to the scene off Mill Lane, Church Broughton, at about 15:50 BST on Wednesday.
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said an animal rescue unit from Alfreton also assisted in rescuing the stricken bovine, with crews using restraint straps and a Palfinger crane.
After being freed the calf was taken to a vet for checks.
