A brand new play area has opened up for families near Chesterfield.
The ribbon has been cut for the new facility at Cottage Close, Poolsbrook.
Equipment at the brand new village play area includes a zip line and a climbing frame suitable for older children to use.
Three other parks across Chesterfield have also had brand new play equipment installed, with input from schoolchildren living nearby on what to build.
The play areas at Tapton Park, Thirlmere Road, and Devonshire Avenue North were deemed no longer fit for purpose.
All four play areas are up and running in time for half-term.
At Poolsbrook, Vice-Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire Colonel John Wilson and his family, who hail from the area, provided 13 fruit trees to represent his parents and their 11 children.
He said: "All 11 of us went to the primary school next to this play area and to create a living memorial is something we are very pleased to have been able to do."
Chesterfield Borough Council mayor Jenny Flood, who opened the Poolsbrook play space with Col Wilson, said: "This was a great way to start my Mayoral year.
"It was wonderful to be able to open this new play area and meet the children who will benefit from it.
"It will be fantastic for the children to see the fruit trees grow in the park and eventually be able to harvest the communal fruit."
