A Royal Navy warship has left Plymouth after a £32m upgrade, which lasted eight months.

Upgrades to HMS Bulwark included a new night-vision facility for the ship's aircraft, and the ability to operate two helicopters from the flight deck at the same time.

The warship will spend the next few weeks off the south coast for crew and performance training.

The ship will then return to duty as an operational warship.

Captain Alex Burton said the departure from Devonport marked a "significant milestone achievement" for all involved.
