Devon folk music marathon raises £15K for air ambulance

BBC Radio Devon listeners have contributed more than £15,000 to the Devon Air Ambulance in a 24-hour fundraising marathon live on air.

Musicians Seth Lakeman, Ellie Williams and Steve Skaith were among the performers who raised £15,663.48.

Lakeman said afterwards: "We've had a fabulous time and the amount of money they raised is fantastic in 24 hours."

The Radio Devon Air Ambulance Appeal has raised £181,849 towards a target of £600,000 for a new helicopter.

Devon Air Ambulance Trust thanked all the listeners for their contributions.
