Boy injured on school trip to ski resort in France

A Devon schoolboy has been injured in an accident at a skiing resort in France.

The boy is a pupil at Torquay Boys' Grammar School and was on a half-term trip to the ski complex at Chatel in the Haute-Savoie region.

He was injured when he became entangled in a ski lift.

It is understood French police have started an inquiry into the incident. The boy remains in a serious condition in hospital.
