A member of Guernsey's Commerce and Employment Department has resigned from its board.
Deputy Peter Gillson, who was also elected to the Health and Social Services board in February 2011, said he could not do justice to both roles.
States members were told they would need to elect his replacement at Commerce and Employment at their following meeting on 30 March.
Mr Gillson topped the poll in the St Sampson district at the 2008 election.
The first-time candidate polled 1,687 votes, having previously served the parish as a junior constable.
