Conservatives retain South Hams council in Devon

The Conservatives have retained South Hams District Council in Devon in the local council elections.

The Conservatives have controlled the district council since 1999, with the Liberal Democrats the main opposition.

The Tories increased their lead by three, taking 30 of the authority's 40 seats.

The Liberal Democrats remain the second largest group, but with only five seats, down from nine. The Greens now have three seats.
