A new company has taken over the running of NHS community and mental health services in Plymouth.
The not-for-profit Plymouth Community Healthcare Community Interest Company would provide the services of NHS Plymouth, the NHS said.
Services it is now running include district nursing, health visitors, minor injury units, physiotherapy, stroke and neuro rehabilitation.
The company said it was a business with social objectives.
Any cash surpluses had to be re-invested into services, it added.
About 2,000 staff who previously provided healthcare within NHS Plymouth have transferred to Plymouth Community Healthcare.
