Rise in employment inquiries at Exeter Citizens Advice

  • Published

Employment inquiries to the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) in Exeter have increased by more than 40%, it said.

The CAB received 436 inquires between 1 April and 30 September 2011, compared to about 310 during the same period last year.

The bureau also saw a rise in queries about discrimination, tribunals and appeals during the period, it added.

Director Steve Barriball said the increase was not unexpected after the cuts to public sector jobs.

Mr Barriball added this was the first time the job cuts had been reflected in the figures.
