London 2012: Ghana Olympics squad to train in Plymouth

Ghana's Olympic team is to use Plymouth as its training camp ahead of the summer's Games.

About 25 competitors, and 15 trainers and support staff, are expected in the city.

The city council said the team would use the Life Centre, the Brickfields sports centre, the College of St Mark and St John, and the city's YMCA.

Sports they will compete in are likely to include boxing, weight-lifting and athletics, it added.

The city's £46.5m Life Centre is due to open in March.

Olympic divers, and swimmers from Canada and Lithuania, are also due to train in the city.
